Antre Peaux,  Bourges

Finally we meet again!

Driven by the desire to see, talk and listen to each other in order to imagine habitable worlds together, we have set up a new meeting in Bourges, a city that is as much a bearer of history as a laboratory for the creation of new contemporary and future stories.r de nous voir, de nous parler, de nous écouter pour imaginer ensemble des mondes habitables, nous avons composé un nouveau rendez-vous à Bourges, dans une ville qui est autant porteuse d’une Histoire que d’un laboratoire de création pour de nouvelles histoires contemporaines et futures.

Through this event, we invite the arts of the past and the present to dialogue with the public. Contemporary artists, from all disciplines, create imaginary worlds that emanate from the friction between arts and sciences, ancient know-how and current research, with a creativity that knows how to be playful, in the best sense, for the purpose of transmission.

Antre Peaux and Ensa are joining forces once again, in partnership with several artistic and cultural structures, and in collaboration with the City of Bourges, to offer all residents, visitors, curious people, from here and elsewhere, the second edition of Bourges Contemporain in the summer 2021.

Between June 12 and September 19 , Bourges Contemporain will bring together 14 exhibitions in galleries, an art centre, an art school, heritage sites, museums, a nursing home, a high school and public spaces, both rural and urban.  See more

By inviting us to travel, the exhibition HABITER reveals the porosity, hybridisation, analogies and affinities between the visual arts and know-how. It invites visitors on a transgenerational and transdisciplinary journey, made up of artist duos, grouped together in the building's cells. This proposal presents ceramics interacting effectively and dynamically with drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, design, digital art, sound and installation.

SILO – MYRIAM MIHINDOU
Curator Julie Crenn

SILO – Myriam Mihindou

From 2 July to 19 September
Opening on 2 July at 6.30 pm

A SILO is a cavity dug into the ground that constitutes a reserve for grain. As an object of everyday life, its presence is as essential as it is invisible.

In line with Myriam Mihindou's metaphorical and political thinking, for the duration of the exhibition, the Transpalette becomes the porous silo of a teeming body of work, the plurality and density of which it seems urgent to present.

EVENTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE EXHIBITION
EVENTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE EXHIBITION - Opening on Friday 2 July at 6.30 pm with the performance "La Genette" by Myriam Mihindou For the performance, Myriam Mihindou uses the metaphorical image of the genet: a small, nocturnal and discreet mammal, threatened, it suffers the ravages of deforestation, forcing it to change its natural environment. This viverridae thus becomes the vector of a warning about rural exodus and the erasure of a collective memory. - Discussion with Myriam Mihindou led by Yasmine Belhadi on Saturday 3 July at 2pm at the Nadir. Guided tour of the SILO exhibition at 3pm. - Vocal performance "Hybird" linked to the SILO exhibition, on Thursday 15 July at 7.30pm by Violaine Lochu. avec la performance «La Genette» de Myriam Mihindou

Fausta Fancelli, Lux Machina (capture d’écran), 2016.

Faced with the obvious physicality of the world, the artists equip their senses to access new modes of perception. By observing, capturing and reorganising the information given, they try to understand the imperceptible phenomena that surround them. Nuage éléctriques exhibition invites us to shift our sensory habits in order to glimpse the spectra behind the veil of matter and to take stock of art's capacity to see beyond the visible.
